Creationists can be annoying but the fear some folk have of them is WAY out of proportion to their danger.

No surprise in a Unitarian church. Don't have to believe in Jesus, i think. But a class to refute strict interpretation of the bible...in a church. And what are the Republicans doing living in the McMansions? Or are they upper class liberal professionals, looking down on the rural types who expose creationism?

There is another side to this coin.

I spent most of yesterday with a very good friend who also happens to be very religious. She is an active member of a Christian church in a small town nearby and spends a lot of her time with these folks. She and I had a very interesting conversation about the president and his agenda, and she told me that the parishioners of her church, and several other churches in the area they are affiliated with are more than a bit upset by what they see going on in govt today. She and her husband did not vote for The One at election time, but she admitted she really didn't know why......."there was just something" until just recently. The more time he is in office, the more eyes are opening, the more noise there is and people are becoming more curious and want to learn. I did my best to educate her to what is going on, but she has a very limited understanding of history, so I had to keep backing up. The bright spot was she was more interested and eager to learn......more than I've ever seen.

IMO there are millions of people in the nation today with more questions than answers, and they aren't at all convinced they support this socialist agenda. Yes.........they believe in helping their fellow man, and yes....they believe in charity and compassion, but I got the sense they are also quite a bit worried about their future and they don't like one bit what they are seeing. Several of their own being laid off and without work. Several worried sick people who feel lost and confused. She said she/they didn't feel this way when Bush was in office, and she admits she was duped into distrusting his administration and the man himself by the MSM at the time.

I educated her on the art of listening. Listening to what is being said on the nightly news and how words are being manipulated to the left's advantage.

After I gave a few examples, (for instance......a top of the hour report on ABC radio news at 10:00 yesterday morning where the news caster spoke the following words...."conservative Muslim...Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan et al) and in the end she could site a few examples of her own.

BTW...that utube vid uw posted the other day is going viral among their associates and their congregations. They are not happy.
