reminds me of when i worked for a unit of a relatively small international bank and we were in process of computerizing the loan dept. my bosses boss was a smart geek and on the committee to decide what system to use. He told the MIS dept and he didnt believe that option A which MIS supported could accomplish certain objectives which he listed in great deal and the MIS assured him and the committee that it could and continued to strongly support option A. So the bank went ahead and deployed option A, and of course the geek was right and it was a dismal failure and they ended up replacing the entire MIS dept. He wasnt mr. personality but probably the sharpest guy in banking I ever met.
