don't even try that with me, Marine. I am the non-combatant. When I think of living on the streets, it is not to equate in any way, but to think... okay, what can I draw on in my experence to understand that of another? and when I think of living on the streets and people understanding that feeling... well, have you ever lost your job and worried of the future? it is level by level. and combat is the level. I don't think it's possible to avoid war. some wars. but not all. I wish it were. maybe some day it will be. not now. not yet. but... I do think we need to fully say to our soldiers - you have been through the worst thing there is, and this is what we will do to honor that and help you through it, in thanks and honor. maybe I suck as a liberal? :) but I am one. honest. <g> I almost sent this private cause I think I am getting waaaaay too philosophical today.
