I find the tungsten story hard to believe.
The electrical conductivity of W is far worse than Au,
and a simple electrical test would show the fake bar easily.
Of course at Ft. Knox this is not a problem, since there is no access.
But selling fake bars on the open market to China is stupid because it exposes the scam (if any).
