Here is an interesting observation for the thread's consideration:

I use AOL to get to internet. We have to choose local numbers to connect to AOL. For last 2-3 months I used to see few X2 connections (2-5 out of 30) with some ramping (10 out of 40), with almost no K56.

However, over last week tables seem to have turned dramatically. Out of 70 local contact numbers that are available, 34 are K56 with 26 X2. 10 have no title.

Few questions arise in my mind:
[1] Do these 70 numbers represent ports that ASND seems to mention in their recent news of deal with UUNet?
[2] Would this indicate that our area recently received an ASND concentrator?
[3] How many days before this sell must have taken place as K56 is clealry added in last two days?
[4] Have anybody else seeing similar distribution for AOL or other ISPs? AND of course finally,
[5] So what does this mean to ASND's bottom line for 4th Q and more importantly to the fire sell that is on?
