"Most guns obtained by teenage gang members, for instance, were obtained illegally."

I doubt this. At some point, the guns were obtained LEGALLY. Like, from an entrepreneurial gang-banger going to a state ( like mine ) where he could load up on UNREGISTERED guns from private sellers at any gun show, then reselling them to his homies. In Utah, you can even buy guns through classified ads - the transaction is SUPPOSED to go through a dealer, but most don't, and no one knows the difference.

Most people here would look at it as about as serious as speeding.

Ted, > I want US military spending to be proportionate with the size of our country, not as much as the rest of the world's spending.

Screw that. I don't want to see China or India each having a military four times the size of ours.

Why? After all, we have enough missiles to take out both countries 4 times over. Why does our military have to be bigger than China and India's combined? And why do you fear India?

> I do not want guns sold like candy in this country available at nearly 'every corner' store.

I certainly don't see them available at "nearly 'every corner' store." Most guns obtained by teenage gang members, for instance, were obtained illegally. They did not walk into a store and buy them like packs of gum.

Moat guns used in crime.....like with Hasan's......were gotten legally.
