If I would compare the current situation in the US to the
collapse of Soviet Union, the time frame is something like
1987. Even the war disaster is similar. So, we have about
4-5 years. -g-

What is similar? There is pretty broad understanding,
even within the Administration, that something is seriously
wrong (bubbles, while the industrial base is vanishing),
but there is the inability to do anything about it. We keep
rolling. Down.

The crisis will be severe.

The command economy introduces ineffective ways of dealing
with the crisis, such as the rush to Green, cash for clunkers,
etc. Since these are command measures, they won't work. The
manufacturing base will keep getting exported until none is
left and the currency collapses.
