Heard good things about Scottrade...I have had positive experiences with Schwab (in the discount area) and William Blair (in the full service area).

I have a IRA with scottrade so far they been good,
you cant reinvest the dividends only drawback. i'm
moving all my accounts from TD Ameritrade to scottrade.

I've been very pleased with Scottrade. Understand what they give you though, trading not "advice".

They handled moving my accounts over from another broker very smoothly, I just filled out the forms and they handled the rest, although note it may take a week or two by the time your old broker coughs up.

I had very bad experiences with ETrade FWIW.
