I've raised this before, but will raise it again...just for the record..

WHY should an 84-year-old....me.... pay the same for a Lifetime membership as a 20-year-old...?????

...unless you can offer equal life expectancy....LOL

Hi Bob, I have an important question. Is the lifetime membership $199 per lifetime or for each year of your membership?
Thanks Bob

@SI Bob,

Is there any assurance that if one buys the lifetime membership, one cannot be banished from the site without any warning or recourse at the whim of an "administrator"?

RE: "we are once again offering" Translation: That which, from the first time offered, provided a way for SI to "shoot itself in the future revenue foot."

Yes, buy on the cheap a Lifetime Subscription so that SI "down the road" can "cheat" itself out of an accruing revenue stream from you.

"... this month and this month only* [offering] Lifetime Subscriptions [for] $199.95
... and offering [the] 3-year subscription [at] $169.95"

* Only - May have an alternate Churakian meaning for "one time only" as "many times only" :)

Quiz: Where on SI are the link(s) to the following information?

Subscriptions and User Levels
For a more complete listing of features available at each level, click here.

As in, you want to become informed as to the differences between a Lifetime Subscription and the 3-year subscription mentioned above since their costs are very close, but time duration, for example can be a difference between 3 years versus 30 years.

Would that give you a lifetime of "premium plus" level access?

Confused by the auto renew warning, otherwise I would take your offer.

I'm a little confused. At level 31, 5-year Premium Plus, with renewal in 366 days at $69.95 (as listed here: siliconinvestor.com I can't see any benefit in this offer.

Am I missing something?

Thanks,

Jim

Hi Bob

Well I don't think either of those offers are of interest to me.

Grandfathered, having joined over 14 years ago.

But I did salve my conscience for all those years of freeloading by upping my membership category to Premium Plus.

Didn't go hog-wild though, figured I'd pay a year at a time.

This place really is worth what ever anybody pays for it.

And for those others grandfathered, 20 bucks a year is a steal even if you don't need the extra features.

Well Bob, I would love to take advantage of your offer. However I just had my 74th birthday and it is doubtful I will live long enough to enjoy the savings. Thanks anyway. This is still the best website available, bar none. To make matters
worthwhile I live off of my American Express card, and you
gentlemen don't recognize it as legal tender.

Well I already have a lifetime membership, purchased from the original owners of SI. My lifetime membership was relegated to less than a full membership by you after iHub purchased or was given SI back when you were President of iHub. Some of the new features you added to SI afterwards and some of the old features were made unavailable to "old" lifetime memberships. We were told we had to subscribe to a premium membership to get all the features.

I don't see why anyone would buy a lifetime membership, given that decision...

Sooo...for people that don't really frequent this board and are grandfathered in, what does this mean? I usually just check to get a pulse of what is being said. Am I supposed to buy a membership now? If these are my last few days here so be it. It has not been all that enlightening. I'm sure that I did not avail myself to everything this site has to offer.

SI Bob,

Why does the site you have directed us to:

siliconinvestor.com

...show a 12-month duration on the line denoting a Lifetime membership level? This is the same duration as the Annual Renewal plan. Is this a typo or a fine print loophole?

What is going to happen to the prospective Lifetime Member 12 months after plonking down his cash? Is he going to get another "One time only" Lifetime offer? Are Vinnie and Guido going to pay our hapless subscriber a visit and explain what "Lifetime" membership really means? Just another vigorish installment, or this week you have a choice - left or right kneecap?

Faithfully yours,

Aggie.

Don't I already have a lifetime membership? 11/27/2212 Is that still valid?
