i like the idea, and not mine, that a lot of cars were bought, but are parked, simply on city streets.. hence the difference between the sale of cars stat, and the gasoline usage stat.

shit man, its just new york city by a factor of 20 million vehicles.

weekend maybe drive out of the city, otherwise, fricken parked, except every morning must move car to opposite side of the street.

fuck manhatten. LOL.

owning a car and the independance from public systems on a weekend, or not having to make plans in advance, to have a day of wanderlust, does not mean those fricken cars are going anywhere, in relation to gas consumption.

Excess cars in China: Were the car bought by state fund enterprises and assigned to employees ? That would make more sense, might even be useful.
