I read recently where they have found no value in mammograms after seventy. Said that the cancers found after that age are the slow-growing, self-limiting kind.

Tough call, lost one of my best friends @51 this summer
due to colon cancer they discovered when he was 50 at first colonoscopy as suggested. They estimated he started colon cancer at 48.
Sure wish they had started recommending them at 40 or 45.
