Thanks for the great post Tim. I agree that SGI has what it needs to turn around earnings pretty quickly. But I keep wondering about their NT box -- I am guessing it will be pricy and specialized, like most of their other stuff. It may not be as universal in its appeal as we would like -- and will they be able to port all that special software to the new platform? Profits from any NT products may be a long way off, and the margins may not be so good. But I think the Server market will continue to ramp up for them. SGI's stock is way undervalued. I'm still holding my shares, althought I admit I lack the nerve to accumulate more now.

excellent post....I have just added SGI. as a long Buy, in a potential "PSYCLE sm" double-bottom formation, similar to it's last time down here, for a similar pop at least...I employ mostly long-existing, technical chart pattern recognition, with a healthy helping of repeating, PSY-chological patterns which often accompany tops/bottoms... FYI, I actually rec'd. puts on SGI., in the last 2 rolling "PSYCLE sm" tops it had this past year, so, been working well for me in this one, and other "techs/semis" at times....am not perfect, but real decent at this....
anyway, I have enjoyed many of the salient posts on this thread, but few are "technical/chart"-oriented in nature....at lows, most people are supposed to be afraid, and near tops, more bullish, as we all know...it's just that SGI. shaping up here nicely...just keeping very close stops below recent/past lows here....best wishes,
