Where to you think a lot of stimulus money is going? To local governments plus schools. Meanwhile they are supposed to be trimming. Because unless there is another stimulus bill the money will run out.

70% of GDP is consumerism, IOW shopaholics. Hard to control an addiction. I spoke with a retired firefighter yesterday that is approaching 60 and lives with a fairly attractive gal with no job. He was cleaning "their" vacation rental condo and she was out the door to go shopping. Pretty typical to see folks at the checkout shuffling through plastic to find one not maxed out.

Lemmings come to mind.
