My definition of an expense is one where the money goes out the door with no expectation that there will be any return on that money. My definition of of an investment is one where money is spent with the expectation of a return on that money. Most people would define expense vs investment in this way.

By those definitions, investment in renewable energy isn't just a noble cause, but it is also an investment, because everyone expects a massive return on that investment. In fact, we already have many renewable energy companies that are making profits. Hell, we invented most of the best technology. Why are the GOP so hell bent against making money? Once again it shows how crazy the GOP has become.

I can understand a little bit their reluctance to get on board with a "noble cause" because the GOP is all about business, which I respect. However, renewable energy happens to be one of those rare industries that is both a noble cause and has the potential to bring this country a tsunami of wealth. To ignore that opportunity is sheerest folly.
