there isn't any reason to think the CBO would really be that good at estimating the long term impact of this bill on medical care cost increases. No one would be good at doing it, and also that isn't a particular area of expertise for the CBO.

Listen I would love to say the current bills are a perfect solution. They are not. You can blame the Republicans or the Democrats... good argument for either one. This has been one ugly POS process, no doubt about it. I'm old enough to remember when partisan politics didn't trump what was good for the country.

But, and I know you disagree, we have to do something politically to reign in the cost of health care. We have to do this. Maybe this stuff fails... if so the Reps will surely take power and have their opportunity.

But at least we are doing something. It's not a self-correcting free market. You know that. So you take what you can get and if it doesn't work you change it.

Either that or it breaks this country by sucking up so much money we don't have much left for anything else.
