Paul F.: <Its Intel's idea of a better heatsink.> Besides jokes, this brick was invented when Intel thought within the frame of their business model that any new offerings will sell for $4000. In this case the new "hot" bricks would pay for old, low level, bricks. As we see, it is not happening - people just perfectly recognised that the 15% "speed monster" is not worth double price... I just saw a TV ad for a P-II (including 17" monitor) from Gateway for $1999.

About sub-$1000 P-II. You know, all the great minds like P.E. do not care about tiny non-essential detals. In his offering he "forgot" to include mouse, sound card, speakers, CD-ROM, floppy, MODEM, and SOFTWARE! $25 fan for this thermal brick is also something not to forget:-)

Take care,

Ali
