Most Red Bordeaux wines are a blend of the same three grapes.

You forgot Malbec and Petit Verdot.

Thanks for your comments. Yes, my wife was there and helped remind me of my limits. She tried a few and had a good time.

This (Nobska Red) wine is just under $20., has crept up from $10./bottle over the years as I've bot it, and is probably my favorite wine and local, too.

I hesitate to suggest you all mail off your hard-earned $$ to try it on my reco but it is quite good, as is the Beach Plum Chardonnay if you lke a dessert wine. I also just bot their Port, a new wine, and like it.

This winery was for sale for a year and I considered selling my house and taking out a loan to buy it before my wife hit me on the head with a frying pan. It would have been too much work at my age. Fortunately, they found another way to finance their two kids' expensive college educations and the land next to them was made conservation land, a big plus.

Looks like I'll be able to drink Nobska Red for the foreseeable future.

There is one more yearly independent wine store tasting I haven't seen scheduled yet. Great catered food. I always buy a bottle or two to support them. Hope I'm not in LA then.
