Seen while out and about re: The Bow:~~~ Dick Cheney calls Barack Obama's bow to Japanese Emperor 'a sign of weakness'

National Post, Canada….

Just ordinary people comment on other sites:

--I don't see why everyone is so shocked or defensive. Obama was simply acting in character; weak and subservient.

--Isn't this the same guy who wouldn't wear an American flag lapel pin because he objected to the symbolism?

--The L.A. Times was correct. The Emperor would have been fine with a handshake. Bowing is a bit of an art form in Asia and Obama was not well prepared. When a bow breaks below the other persons plane, as Obama's did,it indicates subservience and extreme apology. If he had bowed and met the Emperor's bow forehead to forehead , not bending down to face the floor,it would have been the appropriate greeting among equals. The POTUS ,in general, never bows to monarchs or kneels or kowtows, until now. The Japanese are confused; the Chinese are laughing.
