I only own Seek, There is a period after Seek in the post.
I would own Seek because it isn't as inflated as the other 4.
The other one I would like os Excite, they seem to be aggressively
going after business. Lycos is the weakest of the 4 right now.

I have chosen XCIT and SEEK as the two players I am likely to prosper on. Why?

Exite: Great buy in price at 24...28, Big Business Plan, Alliances in place with Key industry players, Active TV and Media promotion, likely to break even before SEEK, Likely to reach 38 soon. Likely to rival YHOO and MSFT.

Infoseek: Great gain potential, likely to make big moves up in times of good news about the company (Any at this point), great buy price at (10...14), likely to see 20. Really starting to get explosure, great ability to generate loyal users.

Its seems to me (based on my trend-tracking of this sector for 1.5 yrs) that SEEK trails the industry on all fronts. Yet SEEK is not sitting around waiting to be out done. Excite will perform before SEEK. BOTH will go up. BOTH will drive up support for this industry sector as a whole. BOTH are players.

Will SEEK be bought out? Watch out for this market shmoozer. Get your facts REALLY STRAIGHT on this stuff!

This industry sector is often driven by a unique component of savvy internet investors. Due to the high degree of exposure to these companies generate on the Net and in Media (simply because they are a key integral part of the Internet), and due to the fact that more and more potential investors log on to the Net every day, a potential demand for the stock is always there. Many others are capable of sharing our vision. This is the easy part.

This creates the hype factor that I believe provides an extra boost in the stock price performance of these two companies. This is why the price can soar far above MM's stock price projections. At the same time, the entire sector seems to be made up of about 40% squeamish support. This last group can and will pullout at the earliest signs of trouble - as we just saw last week.

Actually, that's the good news. Any over-reactive sell-off provides great buying opportunity for those, like my self, who are Value Investors and truely understand the future impact of companies of this nature.

Final Note: I believe 98' will be a great year for those who hold long on XCIT and SEEK. Then popular and fashionable demand for these stocks will drive it hard.

IMHO, Since the economy IS ROCK SOLID, and, Excite Inc is well into implementing their winning strategy, and Infoseek Inc. is also well along with the building phase of their business infrastructure, it is safe to accumulate both stocks today.
