"In GITMO, they were not plastered all over the news media day after day for broadcast all over the Middle East by al Jazeera and CNN. "

Are you trying to claim that there weren't pictures and stories about them at Gitmo?

Or what?

"What better opportunity for terrorists to show their power than to mount a successful attack against the infidels as they put AQ on trial for 9/11?"

It would have been not much stronger than anytime in the past. NYC, in particular, has always been a high value target. That hasn't changed. Again, a better opportunity would have been when the allegations of waterboarding, and our admission of such, came out. It would have been the perfect exchange for hostages scenario. In the intervening years, AQ and its ilk are less popular on the Arab street because of the way they target innocents.

"Real OJ trials don't either"

When did OJ confess? I must have missed that.

"You just don't know what juries are going to do."

No, you don't. But terrorists, especially ones who confess, are not going to find it easy to get a sympathetic jury. Especially in the case where the terrorism occurred. I'd be shocked if the defense lawyers don't ask for a change of venue. Not that it would help all that much.
