Hi BB . You are right. "Niche fabs, with specialty product lines and little competition
will most certainly make money with 150mm and 200mm fabs, until
a competitor with more capacity/efficiency enters the fray." I talked to few fabs with 4" inch wafers. They continue to milk as long as they could. Those guys tells me that they continue to use this fab until cost of wafers goes up or wafer manufacturers stop producing them. But this approach suggests me of milking the cow max before sending it to slaughter house. Surprisingly, to my knowledge, there are 2 4"fabs in silicon valley itself.
