"China couldn't care less about the environment"

I don't agree with this. I think China deliberately decided not to let environmental concerns slow their growth, but they are rapidly learning the folly of that course. The elites in Bejing don't want to have to carry an oxygen tank around to live!

Their course is totally understandable to our (R)'s, many of whom STILL haven't gotten to where China is today, couciousness-wise.

Mindmeld, > Now they are one of the fastest growing in terms of installed solar and wind power plants.

They're only doing it because so many international governments are spending billions of dollars buying up Chinese-made solar and wind plants. It's kind of a self-fulfilling prophesy.

The reality is that they're just cashing in on the myth, that solar and wind is the future of alternative energy. It isn't. They can serve as important supplemental sources, but the backbone of any energy problem still consists of traditional sources of energy.
