In our Democracy the "checks' and "balances" involved keep the tyranny of the majority at bay until they have 60 votes in the Senate. Unless Liberals achieve that number they can't do anything by themselves.

I think you need to deal with that political reality instead of constantly bemoaning the state of things as not conforming to Liberal ideals.
