Thank you Ken for the nice thought, although I didn't contribute much to military life, but constantly wash, starch and iron those blasted military fatigues and make a home for Richard and our baby daughter, Trayce, when she came along.

I told Richard not to leave Ft. Campbell with any of those darn things as I would never iron another pair again. I think he took me very seriously and took them to the Post Resale Shop, as he didn't come home with any. Hanging seven sets of those out on the lines to dry behind our Wherry military housing when it was freezing cold early mornings was drudgery besides ironing all those numerous miscellaneous pockets on them. He wore two sets a day and spit polished his boots every night. We only had a washing machine and a drying rack inside for baby clothes, etc, because Pampers had not been invented yet. Gee, I wish I had thought of inventing those.
