For a few bucks people will stop trying to earn and advance...what nonsense.

If people work hard to get thousands of extra in gross income, and lose net income (after including the effects of taxes and subsidies), they may be reluctant to do so in the future. If they figure out the effects before trying to increase their gross income, they may not do it in the future. People respond to incentives. If hard work = less money, people aren't going to rush in to it eagerly.

Well, there is virtually nothing in it for the family making 20k to earn 40k. That is the nonsense. And losing health care subsidy will make the disincentive worse....

Why don't you and the GOP try solving this problem, or any problems for that matter, instead of just sitting on the sidelines and throwing spit balls.

How exactly can GOP help solve anything at this point? Dems have completely shut them out of the process. And Obama, after misleading people about his intentions of how he would govern (post partisan, transparent, not subject to lobbying) - has turned out to be partisan, non-transparent, and most importantly has given away the store to lobbying groups... Both in the stimulus and health care legislation....
