<<<<<This aint no rumor. INTEL is cutting chip prices and that benefits
the box makers as they could stimulate sale by lowering prices.

...this week's business week has lots of articles on ASEAN and emerging markets. upshot is that the primary worry is deflation if japan and a few other markets tank.

however, they emphasize that in general there is stiil pent up need for tech.

The other rumors I heard from the street are :

1) Intel is going to drop the P II CPU to Sub $100 to make the Sub $1000 boxes more acceptable to the general public.

2) Intel is going to start a new marketing strategy , i.e each Pii you buy, you will get one
Pantium Pro CPU free. This will put the ratio of Pii to Pantium pro to be 1, which will
stimulate the sales of Pii.

3)AMD will file Chapter ?
