I can't discern semi-corupt from corrupt from plain honest. I only assume I might be safer with USA companies because of SEC/Fed/AICPA (accounting) rules/regs. I believe it's a pretense that the SEC cares sufficiently about fairness/protecting investors, etc. For China, the crooks better be politically connected, else if caught, it's possible they could face execution.

Essentially I can't evaluate management trustworthiness. Therefore, I just go with the super-cheap stocks, assuming I can id a package of such.
