Hangzhou? The cautious and sensible thing to

do would have been to inquire how long it had been since zhou was hanged and then to establish some proof that his remains were accounted for and properly interred before arbitrarily consuming some unrecognizable delicacy on a stick.

:)

just in in-tray

FWIW, I just found out that California is withholding an extra 1% of my salary (forcing employers to do this) as of nov 15 and sending it to Sacramento, promising to pay it back at tax time. It is a loan. yeah right. I am mad as hell. I checked ATM and it amounts to ~US$200/month.

Outrageous!

2 observations: a) my wife and I have had it - we are leaving Cali, and probably the US next year. Have spoken about it loosely for months now, but this is the straw that broke the camel's back. This is the beginning of theroad to confiscation and expropriation, 2 things I have been expecting in the next couple of years, but not so soon. My employer didn't even bother to tell me about it. Just called my real estate agent and will put my house on the block ASAP b) this newsworthy item is to be found NOWHERE even in the non-mainstream media, let alone the local press.

This country is going to hell in a handbasket

As for California, The real crisis will hit July/2010, the start of the fiscal 2011 year. You can paper the 6bln over until then, with federal guarantees/money and cuts - but not multiple times that in fiscal 2011 But I have no desire to have any assets in this state anymore.
