In order for this to be so, IMHO, enough humans have to agree, coalesce around the idea of a particular "truth", to make it a cultural reality. If they happen to coalesce around a "scientific" truth (for lack of a better word) than that "objective" truth becomes part of the culture.

"Truth" has absolutely nothing to do with what humans think or with the "culture" they live in. Truth and belief are two totally separate things. An entire culture can be conned into believing in anything a priest, fraud, charlatan, politician sells them.

Galileo was correct. Everybody else was flat wrong.
