Good old Noam Chomsky spoke here about six weeks ago. As you might imagine, he's not too optimistic about things. His discussion ranged over a number of topics and problems (many of which would be familiar to readers of this thread). The night settled, though, with the exact same first point you make. He agreed that campaign finance is where it must begin.

Great list. The fact that Obama is against #3 (which should be easiest and most straightforward to implement/argue) means that none of the others will get done. I'm still amazed that someone can be against corporate power and still be for Obama.
