To the extent that the youth leave the conservative fairly inflexible traditional local ways, it gives more of a chance for the country to modernize, but also more of a chance for violent radicals, and terrorists to recruit. I guess it comes down to who has a better sales pitch. Is an iPod cooler, or 24 x 7 religious studies leading to being the short fuse for a bomb? When there is no penetration of American culture the sales pitch is between the old ways and being the bomb detonator and getting 72 Virginians.
