Very little other than passion and opportunity Bullsht!! Yeah, we can't stop EVERY terrorist attack on US soil, but LEAs and intelligence cooperation stop more than you can ever realize. But why don't you go and try to purchase 100KG of Ammonium Nitrate, or even dynamite. Tell them you've got a bunch of stumps you need to remove in your Canyon.. Then see how fast your name gets put into a database registering the time, date, and quantity of sale. Yes, you can build devices here in the good 'ol US. They don't even have to be explosive. But to build one big enough to do WMD style damage is a whole degree higher on the terrorist food chain. And NO SHT Sherlock.. Of course Afghanistan is lawless. THAT'S WHY IT IS SO DANGEROUS to ignore the problems there since they will spill over the borders eventually. So talk about "dodging".. you're the Artful Dodger of them all. You won't even give credit where credit is due when it comes to keeping this country safe. I'm still pissed off that our CI and FBI folks didn't catch Hasan. His email, from what I can discern, should have IMMEDIATELY required withdrawal of his clearance, which would have made it difficult for him to hold his commission. Had he been put under proper investigation, maybe 13 Americans might be alive today. Hawk
