You're being pretty disingenuous....seemingly reluctant to put the numbers on the board....to keep it from the unwashed masses, I assume. Does a 50% top bracket mean you lose 50% of your income to taxes??? Don't think so.... and btw, the public doesn't have much sympathy with an individual making more than 500K or a couple making 1 megabuck.... "Meanwhile, a poll conducted for the Associated Press found that Americans prefer taxing the high earners to taxing so-called Cadillac plans to pay for the overhaul bill. Under the bill passed by the House, there would be a 5.4 percent income tax surcharge on individuals making more than $500,000 a year and couples earning more than $1 million. The poll found 57 percent support a surtax, even it hit individuals making more than $250,000 a year."
