Actually you only partially did. You posted the income level where the surtax would kick in but that's not the only issue.

But going with what you posted $500k. Fine we have a number if that makes you happy. Stealing the wealth of those who make $500k plus isn't right anymore than it would be if the level was $100k, or $50k. And the higher marginal rates reduce the incentives for some of the most capable people in the country.

As for lack of sympathy for the rich, well I have little sympathy for that argument. Even if they where all unsympathetic bastards, it would still be both wrong and counterproductive to tax them at such high rates.
