Al, Most, not all, people naturally want to advance and provide long term security for their families...they will be un-influenced by fringe conditions like the one you posted. Maybe for the time being, you are right. "Most" people do want to advance. But if the keep finding out that extra hard work leads nowhere (as many are finding out), maybe "most" will no longer be "most", but a minority. the kind of research you do to justify doing nothing to address social problems like poverty or unemployment. It suggests how not to address poverty and unemployemnt. That is, Dem approach removes incentives to escape poverty and unemployement. It de-emphasizes and even trivilizes individual effort.
