There was not update available. A few short reports on AMD, Intel and other semis (but not IDTI) indicated some concern for lingering summer softness but a favorable outlook by the 1st quarter of '98. AMD has apparently made some headway in increasing yields on the K6, but they still reportedly have a way to go in getting yields and production rates up. IDTI has yet to demonstrate their ability to ramp the C6 into high volume production. If the small die size and simplified manufacturing processes claimed for the C6 prove out to result, as expected, in high yields and, or course, higher numbers of die per wafer, then the ramp up could be the best, or one of the best, in the history of Pentium class MPU production. If that happens, then analysts should think highly of IDT's prospects.

Hmm . . . It would be nice if we had some tip off on how the C6 is ramping. Anyone camped out near IDTI's Oregon fab or have inside information on yields, etc.?
