There was also a lot of ridicule for a long time for people pointing at data that might indicate global warming.

It is hard to get an unbiased perspective since everybody is influenced by the country/culture he lives in.

Or are Europeans generally more gullible since they seem to 'believe' in global warming more readily than Americans?

Is it a coincidence that they don't drive huge cars over there and use only 50% of the energy that an American uses?

Try to eliminate that bias is hard but it will get you closer to what is really going on (either way).
