They bought off the three main constituents on the provider side. Physicians face a 21 percent cut in reimbursements in 2010 if this legislation doesn't pass. Drug companies get a bump in their patent expiry to 12 years from 7. Insurance companies get the subsidies to bring for subscribers who can't afford the current premiums.
