It is the same kind of business that is competing for your money and the global warming guys just play it via lobbying instead of ads. In the end it is about your money. If you can't see that.... Maybe a comparison with the military is more appropriate since they also involve industry lobying for major policy decisions and want to take your money through government spending, both based on assumptions that might be true and might not be true. Do I really have to mention the weapons of mass destruction in Iraq that turned out to be a misrepresentation / misinterpretation of reality? If you get upset about global warming being fake then there are a lot of other subjects that flow along the same lines.
