SOT: IMHO being religious or not has no bearing on "inventions". Israel does a lot of patents, research, etc and has great success on a per capita basis... but most of the folks doing the inventing are secular. People doing inventing (at least in high tech) are generally rational, and use the scientific method... which is IMHO antithetical to the story line of most organized religion (although not necessarily personal spirituality). Sorry to rain on your parade.
