Not sure where you got that idea.

From what I've been told -- from someone who frequently eats Army food -- it is first rate if you are anywhere near any kind of FOB. Only on those occasions when they're forced to eat MRE's are there any complaints and that is not usual for most soldiers.

They love Haliburton.

Damn, a liberal uncovers another crime against the poor Gitmo detainees. We're torturing them with our evil food. Its an evil American plot to clog their arteries:

Army food is nearly as bad and as lethal as McDonald's.

Ted, > Army food is nearly as bad and as lethal as McDonald's.

Army food is not designed for weight loss.

It's like Michael Phelps, who eats 12,000 calories a day during his training days. No joke:

Yet not an ounce of fat on that body of his.

As for how "bad" Army food is, well, let's just say that MRE stands for "Meals Rejected by Ethiopians."

I've seen some menus for these meals. They seemed pretty high end but it was years ago and I don't remember the details. I'm pretty sure they where not eating normal army food, but if they where that's not exactly problematic.
