For some reason when you mention hollows I think of slot canyons.

I know that isn't it, but I see twists and turns with steep walls where occasionally the land tables out half way up the hill where you can build a house. Narrow but passable most of the way. Do some Hollows end like box canyons?

The hollow is dry, but there is scrub and patches of forest and dense undergrowth. I think I'm wrong about the scrub, but maybe not.

The hollows wind through hills that don't reach 500 feet high, but to the folks who live there they are mountains.

And what of the wildlife? Rabbits, Fox, Deer, trout, bear, cougar, moose?

I also see old fashioned telephone resisters sitting on crossbars of poles that were installed in the '30s.

I'd like to see the barns in your area.
