MoonBrother:

Balanced discussion on ALSC

You are getting upset with me because I am not cheerleading. That's ok. It should not prevent you from asking ALSC management some hard questions.

1. Inventory INCREASED last quarter in spite of a $6 million writedown. (The writedown was to "market", not to zero) Since Dram prices have continued to erode, will the inventory have to be written down again this quarter?

2. New product mix - which specific products can ALSC make money on? (16 Meg dram is at $4.10, 64M @ $22 , so dram profits are probably out. Will ALSC generate profits on Sram?)

3. Products under development (graphics accelerator?? high end, low end, performance?, LCD devices?; embedded ram products, customers, product definitions?) What will they bring to the party?

4. IPO (this one should be the very first one you ask) Will ALSC shares be restricted during and after the IPO? If so, what are the restrictions?

(BTW, S3 management gets bombarded with similar types (1,2, and3) of questions. Every company's management should.)
