fred, i think they take down the markets in Q1 to reload the zombies with more tax payer life and generate an excuse to continue monetizng the debt.

the central bankers have reached the point of almost squealing for a lower dollar, though.

i'm not sure what to make of it.

a. they really want to kill the dollar to keep the carry trade going and to make the american dollar peso so cheap our exports increase. i did hear obama yap about increasing exports was the key to decrease unemployment - and the *only* way to do that is devalue the dollar. this implies a commitment to lowering the dollar that would seem to extend for some time.

b. the central banks are in "rip their faces off" mode and trying to convince face ripees to jump into the market so they have someone to sell the bag to before creaming the market in Q1.

i'm leaning toward b, but my eyes are open and watching to see if i might be wrong.
