Your position is even more bizarre. You think money spent on the Internet was not an investment? Wow. I don't know how to respond. You act as if the government has no place in helping launch new industries. It shows a level of ignorance about how the world really works as to take my breath away. All of the major industries in this country were given huge helping hands by the government in their infancy. It would be stupid to not use the power of our government to push the economic well being of this country. In fact, I would go so far as to say that is one of the primary reasons for the existence of our government, to provide a framework of security and laws that encourage trade on a level playing field and help bring down barriers to entry into new industries.
