he's bought and paid for. whether he is smart or stupid depends on what you value. if you value lying to the people to get elected with the intent to rob them blind while playing stupid, then he's quite smart.


Is n't that is the basic qualification needed to be a leading candidate of the DemoRepublic party to be president? Or for that matter to become a powerful (as propped up by the slimy corporate media) politician.
It will take a lot of public suffering before they realize, and even if they realize, whether they will have enough freedom left to do any change is a different question to be determined...

The barrier from me in accepting your view is that most the proposals for what people like you (forgive me if I'm mistake on specifics for your case) think he should be doing (/have done) strike me as nuts, whereas much of what he has done so far strikes me as OK given the circumstances.

I think there remain many problems which need to be dealt with, and if in fact he does not set about dealing with them, my views of him will shift more towards yours, but I'm in general not a conspiracy nut. I was not about Bush either. Bush was plain and simply lacking in intellect and was pigheaded as well. Not a good combination.
