Hi Plato. While I believe it's true that "awareness" capabilities play into the search algorithm's capabilities, as you are suggesting, in this case I think you're confusing the 'ads' that you see on SI with the results of bing's findings. The ads that you see are not visible to me unless I release my cookies and log in as a 'guest', such as you do. As a grandfathered member of SI, however, I do not routinely see those ads, in other words. FAC
