Honestly, what YOU would like is totally irrelevant. It isn't YOUR call unless it is YOUR family member. It isn't your call even if it is YOU who is dying.

You probably didn't notice, but one of the patients the doctor was talking to was asked whether he wanted to have measures used to save his life if his heart stopped and he said "Yes." He was absolute about it even though the doctor was pushing hard for him to make the other choice.

Then, at the end of the segment, it was pointed out that a week later, the family pulled the plug.

What a PATIENT wants has nothing AT ALL to do with these decisions.

You can have "directives", living wills, whatever. Ultimately, the family is going to make this decision, NOT THE PATIENT. You can talk to the patient from now on, but you're talking to the wrong person.
