Kyros, you are confusing cause and effect. Smart DNA isn't invented by simply throwing a billion chimps into a money market and selecting the fittest. Such environmental challenges can only select the DNA which has already been created. Once the DNA has been invented, then the carriers of that DNA will use it as best they can and as they like. According to an intelligence researcher I know, the number of genes to get the hot-stuff intelligence is quite low. "Low" means something like half a dozen for the bulk of the super smarts [apart from the swarms of genes required to build the basic human brain, head and physiological systems that support all human brains]. Brainpower is so enormously advantageous for people that all sorts of associated weaknesses are worth the risk, not just the Tay-Sachs type problems. Mqurice

As a student of evolution that makes a lot of sense to me and I have read that study elsewhere. Many scientists think the tolerance for milk is only about 10,000 years old (since domesticating livestock) as is blue eyes. The can separate "bright" rats from dull rats in just three generations (using mazes). So 1,000 years is plenty of time for evolution to work its magic. >>You can only be a money lender.
