Mohan,

Couldn't agree more. What about long CU short AOL as a pair trade?
Whatever happened to those S&P puts?

Mohan,

Over on Rodger's thread I have stated several times that AOL's accounting is by far the sleaziest I have seen in many years. Remember last spring when they got nailed, promised to clean up then had their 10Q kicked back by the SEC a few weeks later. This latest round is just more of the same. This stock is worth about $10, anything above that is proof that we are currently in a mania.

Mohan,

Read the first paragraph carefully. The items sitting in you warehouse full of imported goods ...

The power of deflation like inflation is that it can quickly spiral out of control in a matter of months.

In Sept 29 we had 0.0 inflation 3.8 unemployment, 6.2 gdp growth, prime rate 5.8 and falling, budget deficit approaching 0. Today economic indicators are little weaker but close enough. Financials are much worse. We were the world's largest creditor then and we now have the dubious distinction of being the worlds largest debtor. A few months later the whole thing went down the toilet. Why ... IMPORTED DEFLATION!! Globalization is not a new phenomena the last century actually saw more and freer trade than this one. New era ... NOT.

Mohan,

In case you missed this one:

" The export demand has not showed up yet. Only 25% of the USDA
projected corn export demand has been filled."
